Active Evening Ahead

As been advertised on the models for quite some time, a small, yet powerful squall line is headed for the area. Currently, tornado watches only extend into the Knoxville area and Eastern KY. The SPC may extend this into our area, or may opt to issue a severe thunderstorm watch; alternatively, these storms may weaken enough to not warrant the issuance of any watches. However, at this time, it appears that a few storms will be severe into the evening. I don’t believe that tornadoes will be much of a threat, except perhaps in SW VA. Hail and damaging wind will be the main threat. Expect the line to clear the area by 10 PM.

Could snow be in the forecast this weekend? I’ll have a post on that later!
